Humour and its possibilities

Laughter and humor are universal. Laughter is a human characteristic. Humour may be defined as that quality of action, speech or writing, which excites amusement, wit and laughter. There may be a lot of experiences that may induce laughter and this is called humor. This may be a surprise action or may be something unusual or out of reason.

Medical science has proof that laughter is a critical component of life. It boosts the endorphin level in our brains, thereby boosting morale. Laughter makes us feel better physically and mentally. Humour in children's literature has value on various levels. Humour can bring children and children's literature together, and children's literature can bring humour to children.

Though humour and its appeal is universal, there may be subtle differences in the varieties of humor enjoyed by people of different groups. The way a humor is delivered and accepted by different people varies from person to person and from place to place. As an important tool in arts and literature it is often associated with comedy and jokes.

It is one of the chief components in literature also. It is often associated with comedy. Some of the important kinds of comedies are satire and farce. Satire often mock or ridicule the doings of follies of people. Farce is a lower kind of comedy which uses sub quality ideas or words to induce a sense of laughter among audience.

On the whole everyone in the world enjoy humor and comedy. It relieves the stress and tension and will helps in keeping one's mind cool. It is an emotion as frequent as any other but being loved more than any other, humour is a very important part of any man's life.
